I’ve been on the road for 5 crazy, adventure, growth filled months.
I’ve had an incredible amount fun and excitement, met tons of amazing people, and seen many of the stunning sights of Europe. And I’ve loved almost all of it. Traveling has been an unbelievable learning experience, one that has lead to amazing growth, but now it’s time to level up and take the next step.
The end of my travels is in sight.
What does that mean?
I have started looking for a job. (Gasp!)
Not a traveler’s job, though. Although waiting tables, working at a hostel, or bar tending were in my original plan, I am instead looking for a job that will move me forward, something where I can refine my skills, learn from experts, grow as an entrepreneur, and take leaps and bounds forward.
After careful consideration I think working at the right job is my best next step, instead of continuing on a work / travel plan. The time has come to learn and develop professionally under the leadership of inspired people who are creating products that improve the world.
I don’t want to go back to Austin. So I’m not going to. I love the city and there is a lot going on there but I just can’t. I lived the last 12 years of my life in that city, exploring it thoroughly, making friends and memories, but it’s time to move on. Not going back to Austin means I can go anywhere I want. I’m open to opportunities around the world. Europe. South America. Australia. Whatever.
What kind of Job am I looking for? I want to work somewhere that is doing something awesome so I can fully commit to my work. I seriously want to work my ass off to help grow a company. I want to work with people that love what they do. I want to work at a company that is making a difference in the world. I want to be surrounded by people that are ambitious, moving forward, that are driven. Entrepreneurs. Creatives.
Sometime around February or March I will run out of travel money, so that’s when I would like to start working. If something awesome opens up before then, no worries: I’m on the plane. If it’s later in the year, that works, too.
Let the hunt begin.
